New investor B &B heritage took over DN international property and agreed also to pay FINABANK all debts DN international owed the bank. After DN international left with FIN BANK loans, the government intervened with B&B heritage, BRD to pay 80 m Rwf to Rwandan investors instead of 100 m Rwf. “Both parties have agreed on one decision, FINABANK has agreed to give 60m Rwf respectively, BRD  gives  10m Rwf and the new investors gives 10m Rwf too for buying 80m Rwf rather than 100m to  pay back Muvunyi and Uziel land” Tharcisse Karugarama, the minister of justice revealed. Rwanda : Rwanda’s economy will not be affected by Aid cut-offs

Central Bank governor, Ambassodor Claver Gatete has revealed that the UK, Netherlands and US cutting aid to Rwanda will not destabilize the country’s economy. “The money suspended was only a small part of the budget, so the economy won’t be affected,” said Gatete. He added that the country’s financial sector has continued to be sound and stable. The national institute of statistics rated GDP growth for the first semester of this year at 7.7 per cent. Gatete said that Rwanda has stable sources of income like tourism and diaspora contribution. He was speaking at the national bank of Rwanda monetary policy conference. Rwanda : World Bank launch Rwf3bn Competitive Project

The World Bank (WB), in conjunction with Rwanda’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM) have launched a three-year project worth Rwf3 billion, aimed at improving and developing the competitiveness of its two key sectors, horticulture and tourism. The joint project dubbed Governance for Competitiveness Technical Assistance Project was launched on June 11, in Kigali, Rwanda and is set to directly benefit six stakeholder institutions in the country.
